Science-Backed Results
Red light therapy has been used in clinical settings for decades and is well tolerated when used as directed. In randomized trials of home use devices, adverse effects were uncommon, mild (i.e. scalp irritation / dryness), and primarily ascribed to improper use.
There is robust evidence that red light therapy increases hair density and growth in pattern hair loss. For chemotherapy-induced hair regrowth, research is early but promising, with one randomized controlled trial of breast cancer survivors showing accelerated hair regrowth, and a second in progress.
